I got an iPhone in December and I almost immediately dropped it. Shaken by that experience, I got an Otter case that has a rubber grip around the sides and back, as well as a reinforced shell that wraps around the outside of my phone.
It makes my phone look like the Hummer of iPhones, and has been the subject of much good-natured ribbing. But I’m not the only one who finds the new iPhones hard to hold on to; the glass back is slippery. Rather than get a case, one of the geeks at Make decided to add a no-slip backing to his phone, making sure that it will no longer slowly-but-surely slip off his sofa’s armrest. It’s a cool little mode, even if it lacks the … armor … of my case.
