Found in the journal of Social Neuroscience The ugly truth: negative gossip about celebrities and positive gossip about self entertain people in different ways looked at participants and the impact celebrities had on their brain.  It claimed to find people experienced pleasure when they heard negative celebrity gossip which activated the caudate nucleus.  Hearing negative gossip about celebrities enhanced the neural activity in the reward system.  Through explicit pleasure ratings according to social norm compliance, the prefrontal executive control network was found to be involved in regulating the reward system .

Celebrities are specifically chosen for endorsements and advertisements because of the impact they have on society.  They appeal to players.  People are heavily influenced by certain celebrities and are likely to succumb to whatever they are endorsing.  Many celebrities gamble and the top 10 are included below.  1 in 6 Americans gamble each year.  The positive association of intrinsic association is linked to gambling activities associated with others interests and people.  This is used with the featured themes on the gambling machines.  People are more likely to play these games because they feel like they known something about the game already.
