We have had lots of squash bug eggs in the student farm area. Julia and I have spending much of our time at the garden doing this!!

Yikes! It’s supposed to be almost 100 degrees these next few days. Don’t forget to keep watering but please conserve! Water very early in the morning and very late in the evening only.
If you’re out at the garden for long, don’t forget you need water too! 🙂
Stay cool.
Hey everybody,
Check out the farm’s facebook page to see some more pictures from the past few weeks.
Things are really growing now! Enjoy the harvest.
See you at the garden! 🙂

Mulching is a wonderful thing… Not only does it block weeds, but it provides nutrients and moisture to the soil. Check out this article from Organic Gardening Magazine. And this one from Mother Earth News.
The pile of grass out front of the garden is for anyone, so feel free to use it! It comes from untreated areas of Metzgar Fields. (the hay bales were purchased for use in the student garden, though, sorry!)
Check out the slideshow and blurb about the garden on the College website called A Green Harvest: Students, Faculty, and Staff Spend Summer Working the College’s Organic Garden
Thanks everybody for a wonderful year so far.. gardens are looking great!
