Conclusion

In this project, we completed the goal we set out to complete, but not with the original intended design.  We had original set out to use an SD card reader to store sounds from a saxophone playing a note, but this was ultimately deemed too difficult.  As a result, we decided to add an LCD screen for a display with scrolling sheet music for the user to practice and get feedback on if they were playing the correct note.  With more time, we would have added more notes and expanded the capabilities of the display to have multiple songs, ranging in difficulty, touch selectable.

For the gloves, we sewed the sensors on with lots of care, but they ended up not being the most comfortable compared to the standard glove.

As far as intellectual property, the majority of this project used pieces information from the previous lab 3.  We reused some of our own code, and some of the code provided in the lab.  Our project doesn’t have anything that would be patentable.

Some legal considerations to think about would be if we were infringing on the previously popular Rockstar game GuitarHero.  We do not think that we copy their product, as we use gloves with sensors rather than guitars with buttons, but talking to a lawyer would be a smart decision.
