In partnership with the Lehigh Vally chapter of the Sierra Club, SEES and LEAP were able to organize a Lehigh River Canoe Clean-up. On May 1st, 2010, we set out on the Lehigh River with canoes and trash bags. Starting and ending at High Moore Park, we picked up litter as we went down and up the river. Students, faculty, and Sierra Club members returned with a heap of items including: plastic bottles, old car tires, and shopping carts! Next, we went to Lafayette College for a well-deserved picnic lunch. Prizes were awarded for the best, funniest, and most trash collected. Then, we ended the day with a screening of the movie “Coal Country” with discussion afterwards.
How do I become a voluteer?
