The secondary digital market is a very complex thought with alot of information and opinions.  Before choosing this topic, I thought the secondary digital market was meerly a thought, nothing implemented or concrete.  Little did I know there has already been a site shut down and Amazon and Itunes already have patents for this same market.  Finding information had me go from one side to another and I eventually found a moral obligation that the secondary market pays to society.  The secondary digital market re-implements the traditional view of ownership and our moral duty to obey the law through enticement in price and principle.

When I found out we were writing about a copyright case, I immediately knew I wanted to write about a case involving music.  I wrote a blog post about the Alicia Keys case and the first comment was from my partner who coincidentally wrote a blog post about the same exact case.  We then unanimously decided to write our paper on it.  This case was particularly interesting because it had two arguments, both of which there was evidence for Goldstein to argue.  There was more evidence for one argument over the other, but its interesting how undecided Goldstein portrays himself in parts of his novel.  I was also engaged by how the four factors of copyright, Goldstein, and Vaidhyanathan can be combined to agree on a central point of whether or not to justify the following case.  This case also touches on the central debate regarding copyright infringement: sympathy vs logic.

Finding alternative scenarios in history required understanding the most dominant factors that could possibly affect the present.  I found the creation of the stationers designated by the English government to be the most influential component to the creation of copyright.  The implementation of the Statute of Anne was a result of secrecy as well as ideological manipulation.   I came to the conclusion that copyright was inevitable due to human nature, yet altercations in history may have resulted with more leniant copyright laws which may have benefited society.
