Introduction
While writing the above blog posts I didn’t realize I was actually shaping what I would do for my portfolio essay. After writing them I realized that they all involve legal questions involving copyright laws. With this understanding I decided on researching two particular Supreme Court cases and then write about them.
Another aspect that I focused on was creating a portfolio according to the assignment, which was to create an audio recording. With this requirement I realized I couldn’t simply write a normal essay in the sense that someone would only read it. Instead, I focused on creating a news station story format in which I presented an important question about the way in which copyright laws are being influenced. This format was decided on because I wanted to take advantage of presenting it in an audio setting. As can be seen in the last blog I tested this format out and realized that I shouldn’t include different characters but rather just be an anchor and keep it simple and effective.
A last goal was to make the structure of all four pieces improved and more effective than what I have done in the past. This I have learned is the mark of a professional writer and is something that should be heavily focused on. Improved formatting is something that could take my writing to the next level and therefore I focused on it during this portfolio.
