An air conditioning system operates off of the principle that a fluid absorbs heat when it changes from a liquid to a gas. An Air conditioner unit has a condenser that heats an antifreeze fluid outside of a house. The antifreeze then turns into a high pressure gas. The gas it then brought down to a low presser which makes it cold and it absorbs heat. The hot fluid then flows back into the condenser.
The Solar thermal panel can replace part of the condenser. It can heat the Refrigerant to a high pressure gas. The gas will expand when it is heated and can then be depressurized to in he cold coils. When air is blown over the cold coils, the air is cooled and the refrigerant absorbs the heat in the air.
