The Lafayette Formula Electric Vehicle-Energy Storage, Control, and Management (LFEV-ESCM) team was formed to design the powertrain for an electric vehicle capable of competing in the Formula SAE Hybrid competition. This year’s team seeks to build on previous years’ work, implementing additional features to move the car closer to a competition-ready state. The primary goals for 2014 are to provide a fully integrated Battery Pack and Charging System, and to submit a request for the purchase of a motor, motor controller, and test stand.
