That is a very powerful quote. After last class I started to think about how much of our culture revolves around remixing. Where does remixing fit in with today’s copyright law?
I agree that it’s a very powerful quote. While I think copyright is important, I don’t think the law has found a proper equilibrium between protecting the established and allowing the emerging to do that–emerge. Luckily our legal system is ever evolving so there is always the possibility that we can improve our lives by improving the laws.
This is a very true quote but I don’t think it’s true all the time. An emerging artist can have their works taken from them as well and it protects them too. If they honor the copyright laws there shouldn’t be any problems. Great idea for a blog post though to use a quote.

I think the laws should be altered some to help those really trying to emerge. Revising the laws would be a very complex but maybe necessary process.
