We are excited to report that our club’s portfolio has returned 16.3% YTD to bring our total AUM to approximately $956,000. Looking back to the start of 2020, Jack Evans ‘22 and Ian Lee ‘22 successfully pitched Lululemon(LULU) which has since returned over 41% since we acquired the stock in February. In September, members Parth Patel ‘21, Nick Sant Foster ‘22, and Jimmy Lapsley ‘24 helped diversify the club’s portfolio by entering into our first REIT, Digital Realty. The club also acquired stakes in Solar Edge and Domino’s Pizza Inc.
Despite the difficulties of hosting a virtual club, co-presidents Alec Cwienkala ‘21 and Noah Grossman ‘21 made it a point to continue the club’s mission of education by hosting alumni speakers via Zoom. The club had the pleasure of hosting Bradford Bonner ‘97 from Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and John Tully, CAIA, ‘07 from Bank of America Merrill Lynch who spoke about their career paths and Lafayette experiences.
Looking forward to 2021, the club is excited to partake in an on-campus spring semester and the possibility of in-person, pizza-fueled meetings. With 2021 marking the 75th anniversary of the club, the executive board hopes to hit a longstanding goal of growing the portfolio to $1,000,000!
