Firm Overview: Cambridge Associates LLC (C|A) is a global consulting practice providing industry-leading investment consulting, financial planning, and proprietary capital markets and investment manager research to over 900 highly sophisticated institutional investors. Our global network of clients represents approximately $4.2 trillion in assets spanning all asset categories, including private investments, hedge funds, and traditional long-only (equity, fixed income) investments.
Both the Manager Information Group and the Performance Reporting Group are conducting Operations Associate interviews. As you progress through the recruiting process, the C|A hiring team will determine the appropriate group and role for you based upon staffing needs, skill set, and your interests. Outlined below please find the Operations Associate qualifications and the department specific responsibilities.
Operations Associate Qualifications:
- BA/BS required; all majors welcome
- Interest in financial markets and concepts
- Ability to operate in a highly productive and service oriented environment; willingness to put the customer first
- Proven track record of managing multiple project deadlines, while ensuring timeliness and accuracy; keen eye for detail
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives and formulate solutions
- Ability to work independently and collectively as part of a team
- Highly motivated, self-starting, entrepreneurial spirit with intense desire to work hard and make a positive impact
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with Microsoft Access and Power Point preferred

Manager Information Group: The Manager Information Group (MIG) is an evolving department tasked with centralizing all investment manager data collection processes across all C|A global offices. MIG serves as a liaison between investment management firms and C|A’s internal advisory departments. The group plays a vital back-office investment operations role to capture and input data efficiently and improve accessibility of information throughout the firm. Through the organization, maintenance, and ownership of various internal proprietary applications, the department provides operational support to C|A’s global investment consulting practice through all stages of the investment process. This includes fully servicing data needs for research, due diligence, consulting, and performance reporting, and supporting the firm through various ad-hoc research and request capabilities. MIG works with Private Investment, Hedge Fund, and Long Only investment managers to track over 8,500 firms across 26,000 funds and are responsible for capturing, inputting and reporting investment performance data for over 37,000 client portfolios.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop new and existing relationships for an assigned personal coverage list of high-priority investment management firms
- Cultivate a deep understanding of investment firms and their reporting practices
- Proactively communicate with investment management firms to collect and extract investment data
- Input data into proprietary database and maintain data integrity through extensive quality checking procedures
- Develop an understanding of multiple C|A departments and facilitate communication between staff and other relevant parties
- Consistently re-evaluate internal processes to detect inefficiencies and identify new MIG best practices
- Perform additional duties as necessary in the evolution of the teams and department
Performance Reporting Group:The Performance Reporting Group (PRG) is an evolving department tasked with providing industry-leading portfolio monitoring and evaluation services to 730+ clients worldwide. PRG plays a vital back-office investment operations role to support the firm’s consulting practice through the production of monthly and quarterly performance reports. PRG offers 3 performance report products, including total portfolio, hedge funds, and private investments; publishing approximately 17,000 reports annually. C|A’s consultants use the reports as a tool to analyze asset allocations and total performance returns of various investment managers, and to provide information on the investment strategy applied by each fund. The reports also assist our clients in making decisions about their portfolio structures. PRG team members are focused on efficiently producing high quality products and providing superior customer service to the C|A consulting teams they support.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assume ownership and accountability for the production and final delivery of monthly and quarterly performance reports to consulting teams and/or clients for 12-15 individual client assignments. Associated duties include data input, report generation, quality control, data analysis and client portfolio administration.
- Maintain administrative files per client relationship to document client decisions and reporting intricacies pertaining to services
- Fulfill data requests and ad-hoc analysis for clients and consulting teams
- Consistently re-evaluate internal processes to detect inefficiencies and identify new PRG best practices
- Perform additional duties as necessary in the evolution of the teams and department
