While Americans are celebrating Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras, Germans are celebrating Fasching or Karneval. In Germany and Austria, the people celebrate with parades and grandiose festivities, our German Club meets either at a faculty house or in the Max Kade Center in order to enjoy German pastries (Faschingskrapfen und Fastnachtsküchle; in PA they are called “Fastnachts”) and watch videos of the celebrations in Mainz, Köln, and Villach.
