Abstract:

The purpose of this website is to address garden growth opportunities and green roof garden system implementation in Easton, Pennsylvania.  Specifically, it will address the research question: How much area of Easton is covered by urban development, and of this urban development, what percentage is suitable for urban and rooftop garden systems?  The contexts that come together to shape this topic are cultural, educational, and environmental contexts.

With our increasing need for environmental sustainability, the development of technological systems to protect the environment and reduce energy emissions has gained momentum.  With city industries generally producing waste and destroying the natural environment, urban gardens and green roofs represent opportunities to counteract some of that destruction.
