Abstract: The project we have created responds to our research question:  Why is sports engineering important and how does it fit into the current Lafayette College engineering program? We combined the works by Anthony Buffolino ’12, who established a connection between Lafayette and Majestic Athletic, and Kelsy Lantz ’13 and Kristin Tuttle ’13, who created a three week interim course for Developmental Engineering, in order to create our own three week interim course for Introduction to Sports Engineering. We gathered information from Oregon, Maryland, Georgia and Colorado universities to use as the foundation of our course. All of the aforementioned schools have established sports engineering programs. Using our resources here at Lafayette, Assistant Athletic Director George Bright has provided us with a connection to both Nike and Majestic Athletic. Our actual course syllabus and description can be found online through the website we created in order for future students, faculty and athletic teams to become involved in sports engineering at Lafayette College.
