Joining the Discussion about Egypt

Despite the cold and ice, things are heating up here at McKelvy as the semester gets under way. We kicked off the Sunday discussions this semester thinking about how the experiences of Lafayette’s first coeds can help us address issues of inclusion on campus today. This past Sunday, guest discussion leader Colin Rementer and Tania led a provocative discussion on pornography with a fantastic turnout, including Tania’s dad!

Our very own Jay Zenker, McKelvy resident in Fall 2010, has a Letter to the Editor in this week’s Laf about his experience in Egypt, available here.

Jay will also be speaking at a faculty/student panel on “The Egyptian Crisis and Beyond” with Professor Ilan Peleg (Charles A. Dana Professor of Government & Law and a member of the McKelvy Faculty Advisory Committee) and Professor Asma Sayeed (Assistant Professor of Religious Studies). The panel is Tuesday, February 15th, at 4:10 p.m. in Hugel 103.

Next week: faculty nominations for next year’s residents, the Mnookin dinner, Russian Club Party, and Mystery Dinner!
