An idea on McKelvy discussion

Apart from the Sunday discussions, we can add a new event: on Sat afternoons or so, 3 or 4 McKelvy scholars can hold a lecture/speech/presentation on whatever they are interested. One take the discussion room, one the study, one the backyard. Others are suppose to attend one. Do I sound like a fan of Platonic Academy? Probably.

To move out of intellectual comfort zone. To study something one didn’t know. To share one’s passions. To let others know one better. To offer quieter ones chances to talk loud.

Such event differs from the Sunday discussions that hosts who are interested in their topics, or have a decent understanding of those, can have a better chance to express and share, instead only guiding the conversations. In this way, the depth of the discussions is likely to be pushed further.

By the way, this editing interface of post is quite similar to the blog that I’ve been using… Industrial standard, I guess.
