McKelvy Discussion 9/15 – Slut-shaming

For this week’s discussion, we will be talking about slut-shaming and how it affects and comments on women and their sexualities. The first article linked here is a blog post from a mother addressed to teenage girls that was all over the internet last week. For reference, the second link is an introduction to what slut-shaming is, in case you aren’t familiar with the term.

I might also bring in a discussion question about Miley Cyrus and her recent VMA performance, so if you aren’t already aware of the media surrounding that, I would recommend looking into it.

Food will be from Taste of China.

Hosted by Hollis Miller ’15 and Tia Seibold ’14.
