McKelvy/French Club Murder Mystery Event

Hey everyone! Erin here. Last night I hosted a murder mystery event at McKelvy in coordination with the French Club, which turned out to be a night rife with fun, food, and murder! Famous A-list actress Uma Vermon graciously flew 18 special guests to the restaurant La Tour D’Argent in Paris, France to celebrate the wildly successful year of famous fine dining chef Foxgang Luck. The guests arrived around dressed to the nines and were treated to a lovely spread of assorted French cheeses, paté, and bread as they revealed information about their characters to each other. When dinner was served, guests played a French Expression Challenge game and enjoyed ratatouille and French onion soup. But during dinner… Foxgang was poisoned to death!

Everyone scrambled to get the facts straight. Could it be Foxgang’s sister Angeli Silencio, a recently-turned mime who had held a grudge against her brother ever since they were children? Or what about Sylvia Plance or Dee Zeine, both of whom were owed money by Foxgang? But what about Uma Vermon, Marcy Dark, and Ivanna Thump, all past or current lovers of the famed chef? While trying to figure out the truth, television producer Jayna Clark and Angeli danced to relieve their stress, former president Bill Chinton hit on the ladies, and pop star Whitney Shears tried to convince everyone that she wasn’t crazy. Entrepreneurs Alexander Badenov and D. Piddy and government agent Double “O” all remained mysterious and suspicious with how they made their money or why they were even at the party. Detective Jacqueline Devereux conducted a preliminary forensic examination report, and the suspects were narrowed down to four guests: Marcy Dark, Bill Chinton, Whitney Shears, and Uma Vermon.

When the crêpes were served for dessert, the guests sat in a circle and everyone got a chance to tell their story. It turns out that everyone has some dirty laundry! Alexander Badenov is a transgenic mushroom dealer, Double “O” and Whitney Shears are siblings, D. Piddy actually makes his money selling feminine products, and Foxgang was a bit of a womanizer! But suddenly Whitney dropped dead- she’d been poisoned too! At this point Detective Devereux jumped up and said what everyone was thinking: Bill Chinton murdered them both! In the most eloquent and unapologetic way possible, Mr. Chinton confesses all- in order to stop Angeli Silencio from blackmailing him and revealing their secret love affair, he poisoned Foxgang, who was blackmailing Angeli, who was dealing in the illegal transgenic mushroom business. What a mess! But the police were called, and the rest of the guests recovered from the shock of the confession and enjoyed the rest of the evening at McKelvy.
