It was Rebecca Ravioli, in the Lounge, with the Revolver
On February 19th, the McKelvy House was the setting for “Murder at the Four Deuces”, a Murder Mystery Dinner Party. It was very much a grown-up live action version of Clue. As party hostess, I (Lauren) oversaw the evening’s activities, including character assignments and the weapon scavenger hunt. The house doubled as a faux speakeasy, run by gangsters. McKelvyites (and friends) did a spectacular job of getting into character as mobsters, entertainers, and police inspectors from the underworld of 1920s Chicago.
The evening included a grand total of five “murders,” four of which took place while solving the murder of Big Jim, portrayed by Daniel. Tania’s character was eventually found guilty of the murder of her dear old Dad, while the other four “murders” were committed by a tag team of Al Capone (Colin) and Capo Tequila (Eric). The house itself, with all its charm and character, provided a perfect setting for mystery and mayhem. Everyone donned their 1920s finest and enjoyed a themed Italian feast. It was a lovely way for the entire house to spend a winter’s evening!
