In honor of missing my “hottie of the week” post last week, I’m making up for it with this super trio: Lyle, Miles and Ty Thompson. These three brothers are some of UAlbany’s most influential players. The boys Native American heritage is often mentioned when discussing their unparalleled skills on the lacrosse field. Whether its their cultural roots connecting them to the game of lacrosse or just sheer talent, the Thompson boys are something special. Let’s outline some of their recent personal achievements:
Ty: 6’0 185lb Senior Attackman

• 2013 All-America Honorable Mention
• 2013 America East All-Conference Second team
• Finished fourth in the nation in scoring with 3.00 goals per game
• Led the Great Danes in scoring with 54 goals
• Recorded his 100th goal against UMBC (4/19)
• Named the America East Player of the Week on Apr. 22
Miles: 5’11 185lb Senior Attackman
2013
• 2013 All-American Honorable Mention
• 2013 America East All-Conference First team
• Finished the season with a 14-game goal streak dating back to May 2, 2012
• Scored in all 12 games played
• Tallied 10 games with five points or more
• Posted a team-high six points on one goal and five assists against Denver in NCAA First Round (5/11)
• Broke the school record for points in a game with 14 against Stony Brook (4/27)
• Broke the school record for assists in a game with 9 against Stony Brook (4/27)
• Named America East Player of the Week on Mar. 18 for the week of Mar. 11-17
• Broke the school record for goals in a game with nine against Bryant (3/16)

• Selected as Inside Lacrosse and Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Division I Player of the Year
2013
• Selected as one of five finalists for the 2013 Tewaaraton Award
• First Team All-American
• America East Player of the Year
• Broke the school record for points in a season with 113 (two points shy of the NCAA record set by Steve Marahol)
• Broke the school record for assists in a season with 63
• Led the nation in points per game with 6.65, second in assists per game with 3.71
• Tallied eight points or more in eight different games
• Recorded a career-best 11 points on four goals and seven assists vs. UMBC (4/19)
• Named America East Player of the Week three times (2/11-2/17) (3/04-3/10) (3/26-31)’

Their achievements tell it all. With many more notable records and performances so far this 2014 season, losing Miles and Ty will be a devastating blow to the UA attack squad next year.
