The potential of this technology is inmeasurable because it value seems so useful and would accomplish the many energy issues concerning the world. The one problem I have heard though about this technology is the cost of the glass covering that goes over the top of the solar panels. They cost a lot of money to produce because glass in general is expensive especially when you have to take into account that they will have to produce glass that is ultra durable and resistant. I hope this technology succeeds, but they will need to address the issue of production first.
I also shared this video with my family at Thanksgiving. They were impressed with the idea but had a lot of questions regarding how plausible it really is. They questioned not only the expense of installation, but whether they would be able to hold weight of giant trucks, be stable under crashes etc. It made me come off cloud nine a bit and realize that this is a wonderful idea but we definitely need to do more research before it will be installed on a larger basis

Ugh, agreed. I just wish it was easy enough to jump on board with good ideas and stop perpetuating the bad ones. I’ve found, however, that when I talk about environmental consequence of eating beef or lamb, people are too set in their ways to make a change. I wish there was a way to make being “green” less “uncomfortable.”
