Future

The future of HEVs is simple; luxury and sports cars. With the advancement of technology and the birth of the plug-in hybrid (PHEV), which has not only proven to be more efficient in terms of fuel economy, but also has lower life cycle GHGs relative to HEVs, it is evident that PHEVs will cannibalize HEV market. PHEVs are also supported by better federal tax incentives. However, since the hybrid movement took a while to catch on with luxury and sports car manufacturers, we are finally seeing a significant number of luxury/sports car manufacturers rolling out both stunning and ridiculously well performing cars into the market.
