DKE Accreditation

Rho DKE was recently informed that they have earned a Gold accreditation rating. This is the first ever Gold accreditation rating that has ever been issued since the start of the accreditation program at Lafayette. Congratulations to last years President Jimmy Cochran on his fantastic term. Along with the entire Rho chapter, as this could not have been done without all of them.

  12. The Gold accreditation is a real achievement given how new the program is, and the post does a good job crediting the whole chapter rather than just the president. The line about 1,761 hours stands out – that is the kind of number that is easy to announce and hard to sustain, so it would be interesting to see how the chapter keeps the service component going after the award cycle.

Gold is a strange thing to celebrate in the abstract, so it is worth saying what accreditation actually measures: not one good semester, but whether the chapter keeps doing the boring things, keeping records straight and programming consistent, when the officers change. Earning the highest rating ever issued at Lafayette in the same year as a leadership handover is the part that stands out, because that is the moment a chapter usually lets things slide. A note from my own work, I build a tool to extract prompt from video, and one thing I have noticed from chapter and recruitment videos is that the ones that age well are the ones where the process is on camera, not just the result. Congratulations to Jimmy Cochran and the chapter.
