The Bushkill Creek Watershed is located in Northampton County. From Bushkill Creek Blue Mountain to the Delaware River in Easton, PA, the watershed stretches close to 80 square miles. Blue Mountain provides a critical source of high-quality water for Bushkill Creek. Most of the upper half of the basin is located in shale and slate geology, and is dominated by woodlands, agriculture, and low-density residential development. Wooded areas absorb rainfall and runoff, keep the stream shaded and cool, and provide a habitat for flora and fauna. In the upcoming year there are prospective plans to remove four dams along the Bushkill Creek. If these plans proceed there are both ecological and economic benefits to consider.

Current conditions above Dam 1. Note pool of fine sediment and banks overgrown with invasive Japanese Knotweed.
