What is the current status of the project?
Engineering studies are underway (2018 – 2019) to assess the feasibility of removal of Dam 1 and several upstream dams. These studies involve topographic surveying and hydraulic modeling of current conditions as well as the conditions if the dam were to be removed, with particular attention to possible impacts on surrounding infrastructure. Once the studies are complete and the results have been assessed, the next phase (late 2019) is removal design.
