PardSecret (spring 2010)

PardSecret is inspired by PostSecret, which is an ongoing community art project, created by Frank Warren, in which people mail their secret anonymously on the back of a homemade postcard. Frank Warren said, “Every single person has at least one secret that would break your heart. If we could just remember this, I think there would be a lot more compassion and tolerance in the world.”

Active Minds sponsored a PardSecret display on Lafayette’s campus. We collected over 100 secrets!

The secrets were respectfully displayed on April 7th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on the front steps of Farinon Student Center. The goals of Lafayette’s PardSecret are to highlight the issues facing Lafayette college students and encourage dialogue about these issues. We hope that students left the exhibit feeling more connected, understanding, and compassionate towards each other. Active Minds will also provide dessert and Counseling Center staff will be on hand.

Over 400 students read the secrets outside of Farinon!

The secrets will also be displayed here – http://sites.lafayette.edu/activeminds/past-events/postsecret-spring-2010/lafayette-pardsecret/.
