As the spirit of the Marquis de Lafayette, let me be the first to welcome you aboard my faithful watery steed, the Hermione. Together we shall sail to America to commemorate the voyage and partnership that helped deliver freedom and to celebrate the Cur Non spirit that lies at the heart of all great ventures including your (dare I say, our) dear college. So I beg you, stow your gear — perhaps first donning one of your fine maroon garments — and then join me at the prow, for there is much this kindred soul must share.
