My name is Matt Stein and I am a Visiting Assistant Professor in the department of Government & Law at Lafayette College. My research interests are at the convergence of political theory and American politics, and I focus on race, and contemporary social movements. My dissertation examines Black Lives Matter and the Alt-Right as I consider the collective role of death and existential anxiety in motivating movement creation and participation.

I teach courses in both political theory and American politics, and have taught unique sections of in-person, online, and hybrid courses. I have been honored and awarded for my teaching by Temple University’s political science department, and the Temple University College of Liberal Arts.

Please see my curriculum vitae for more information, my ResearchGate page for examples of my conference papers and presentations, and my LinkedIn page for additional employment information. Please additionally feel free to check out a recent article in which I was quoted, related to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr.
