Silk handkerchief celebrating the end of World War I

Lafayette, we’re going over
To pay our debt we owe to you
Lafayette, we still remember
What you did for the red, white and blue
All our men are getting ready
They will soon sail o’re the sea
To fight with France and her Allies
For the cause of liberty.

Hand-embroidered handkerchief

Third Verse

Now our boys in drab are there
Fighting for dear France so fair,
Paying up the debt we owe to that great land
Tho’ it’s past one hundred years
We hope you can hear their cheers
And Lafayette, we know you’ll understand.
