Grandparent-Led Show and Tell Instructions

Before you begin this activity, you should have set up Zoom Meetings. You can refer to this link for directions.

We’d like you to try the following activity. If your child doesn’t want to do it, that’s ok. You could try coming back to it later in the video chat, or on a different video chat. If you try it a couple times and your child isn’t interested, let us know and we will send you the next activity.

For this activity:

  • The grandparent will choose things in their house to show their grandchild. These objects could be a hat, a pet, or parts of the body like hands.
  • These should be things the grandparent would like to show the child that the child does not have.
  • The grandparent will ask questions about these objects and create shared stories and games around them.
  • The grandchild can play along however they wish.

The picture below shows an example.

 In this example, the grandmother asked the granddaughter questions about her hand. The         granddaughter then points at the screen to show where the grandmother’s hand was.
