For this project I explore Volcanism on a global scale. First, we look at Mid Ocean Ridges (MORBS) on a global scale. We compare the rate or spreading for fast and slow ridges and we look at the typical magmatic composition found in a MORB. Next we are looking at Ocean Islands (OIBS). For this portion we are looking at a case study of the Canary Islands. I will describe the typical topography as well as typical kinds of magma found at these locations. Third, we will be exploring subduction zones by looking at volcanism on the Kamtchecka Peninsula in Russia.

Finally, we will compare these three systems by looking at REE/Chondrite graphs, Harker Diagrams for each one of these system, AFM and TAS graphs. We will also be exploring the eruptive histories of specific volcanoes found at different areas of volcanism, specifically at the subduction zone and the ocean island.
