Abstract:
The Easton Wastewater Treatment Plant is considering changes to its sludge handling and disposal processes, to reduce the high liquid content in the end product and reduce disposal costs. In this project, a team of Lafayette College students in Sustainable Solutions, Engineering Studies 480, will examine current systems used by the plant and analyze alternative solutions, taking into account environmental, financial, and regulatory factors. The team will focus on the possibility of a pipeline for methane gas from the nearby Chrin Landfill to provide power for the necessary equipment.
