Vamos a la Playa

The Stuttgart train station is actually the most confusing and frustrating train station in the world. There is no reason for the metro and local train station to be a 20 minute walk from the long distance train station. We took an ICE train to Stuttgart HBF (Arnulf-Klett-Platz). The Arnulf-Klett-Platz distinction is very important because our connection to the airport was from Stuttgart HBF (Tief). I have no idea why Stuttgart HBF is split into two separate train stations but it apparently is. Most train stations have long distance and short distance trains in the same area and not a 20 minute walk apart. Once we figured out this maze and major inconvenience we finally managed to make it to the airport and catch our flight to IBIZA!!!!

The reason we were flying out of Stuttgart which was about 4 hours away from Bonn was because the flight was cheaper. Once we landed we had an hour walk to our Airbnb and we blasted Spanish music the entire walk. That night we grabbed some tacos for dinner and then explored an old Spanish fortress called Dalt Villa. It was really impressive to see and I knew if I was alive when this fortress was operational I would not want to be trying to storm the island. I don’t think anything is going to be able to take this fort.

The next day we woke up and went to the beach to go swimming. We walked along the coast while we waited for the temperature to warm up. We eventually walked up a little hill to a tower and accidentally stumbled upon the best swimming spot on the whole island. It was a tiny little cove that was completely private and the water was crystal clear. It was beautiful and honestly one of the coolest spots I had ever

been swimming. After going swimming we walked around old town Ibiza and did a little souvenir shopping. We also went back to the Dalt Villa Fortress to take some pictures of it during the day. We then got some paella for dinner and it was so delicious.

The next day we woke up and it was Easter Sunday. My friends wanted to go to a Spanish Easter Mass so I dropped them off and then did even more souvenir shopping. I got a bunch of stuff for my parents and friends and a good amount for myself as well. I worry that it might look like I studied abroad in Ibiza and not in Germany but everything there was so cool and I wanted to buy so much more. We then walked along the beach again until we walked up a mountain and watched the sunset. We then chilled on the porch for our final night in Ibiza and listened to Spanish music. This was one of my favorite trips and it was so relaxing. It will probably be my last real travel of my study abroad trip. I think this was an excellent way to finish out the semester.
