January 8 & 9 – Travel south to Riobamba and Tunguragua Volcano
On January 8th we traveled south from Quito to the caldera Quilotoa and then spent the night at the native community in Achignan. On the 9th we hiked on the volcano Chimborazo…with the weather changing drastically part way through the hike. We did make it to over 16,000 feet in elevation.
