January 12 – Travel to the Galapagos Islands
Today we flew from Quito to the Galapagos. A beautiful morning afforrded amazing views of the Andes in Ecuador. Lunch was follwed by a city walk and orientation at the GAIAS building. We then went on a walk to Tijeretas followed by a swim in the Pacific. The evning was finished with a group dinner and lecture on ocean currents and El Nino effects in the Galapagos.
