About Easton

Easton is a diverse, compact and walkable city of about 27,000, located at the confluence of the Delaware and Lehigh Rivers. It’s the smallest of the three cities in the Lehigh Valley, the third-largest metro area in the Commonwealth. (Trivia: It’s also one of only three places the Declaration of Independence was read.) The city is home to national brands such as Crayola (there’s a museum downtown), Weyerbacher Brewing Company and Majestic Athletic, along with heavyweight champion Larry Holmes. Easton is blessed with many stellar restaurants, ranging from brewpub to French and Italian to Mexican and seafood and then some, plus robust beer-centric venues (Black and Blue, Pearly Baker’s, and Porters’ Pub.) You’ll also find plenty of unique home goods and upscale clothing stores and consignment shops for men, women and children. Easton also has the distinction of being home to the country’s oldest, continuous, open-air farmers’ market, a grower and producer-only spot which operates on Wednesdays and Saturdays from May to November. The main college website provides driving directions from a variety of locations.

Flying to campus

Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE), located about 15 miles from campus, serves thousands of business and leisure travelers each year through several major carriers. Lafayette College Information Technology Services will provide shuttle service to and from this airport based on our guests’s needs.

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), located about 60 miles from campus, offers a variety of car rental services; the drive typically takes just under an hour.

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), located about 85 miles from campus, also offers a variety of car rental services; the drive typically takes about 90 minutes.

Taking the train to campus

Pennsylvania Station (NYP) in New York City serves over 600,000 passengers per day and is the busiest train station in North America. Trans-Bridge Lines offers regular bus service to Easton from the Port Authority Bus Terminal, approximately eight blocks from Pennsylvania Station.
