After identifying our Positive Core, we worked to build from our strengths.  As a group, we were asked what our hopes and wishes for our future at Lafayette College were.  Here’s what we came up with:

  • Feeling/sense of respect/appreciation from campus community for all employees
  • Use our mission to guide us (vs. using outside comparisons)-we know what Lafayette is.
  • Universal acknowledgment of accomplishments. (Entire campus community)
  • Equality among all groups of employees
  • Eliminate the need for multi-cultural and diversity offices
  • An open platform for creative thinking.
  • Agreement on mission-embrace who we are.
  • Breaking down barriers.
  • Willingness to take risks.
  • More gatherings for getting to know each other and creating shared experiences.
  • Community bulletin board to connect on more personal level.
  • Field trips-getting to know offices on a deeper level.
  • Creating a more cohesive Lafayette community by holding regular get-togethers between  faculty and staff in a casual, warm setting.
  • Mutual respect by everyone for everyone’s contributions to the student learning experience.
  • Enhanced institutional self-image.
  • Appreciative relationship between faculty and staff.
