January 5, 2015: Deformation and Geophysical Observatory

Today we started by going up the remarkable folded and faulted outcrop near Bosque de Jerusalem followed by a short time spent straddling the equator. In the afternoon, we went back into Quito for a visit to the Geophysical Observatory, where all the volcanoes and earthquakes in Ecuador are monitored.
