Membership

Eligibility Requirements and Recruiting Process

Eligibility for membership with Tau Beta Pi is primarily based upon academic merit. Each semester, the top 1/8th of the junior engineering class and top 1/5th of the senior engineering class are notified that they have become eligible for membership. Students must then apply to be accepted into the organization. The Pennsylvania Epsilon chapter requires that eligible students submit a personal statement, resume, and letter of recommendation to the current leadership board for consideration. Students who exemplify strength of character and a passion for their field of study are then accepted into the organization.

Membership with Tau Beta Pi does not expire. This means that once students are initiated into the organization, they are members throughout the entirety of their educational and professional careers. Tau Beta Pi members may apply to exclusive scholarships offered by the national organization and take advantage of valuable professional development and networking opportunities.
