This past week, Tau Beta Pi held its 112th National Convention in Dearborn, Michigan. Michigan Gamma (MI G) and the Ann Arbor Area Alumni Chapter (AAAAC) served as hosts of the Convention. Delegates from across the county and abroad came together to conduct business regarding the direction of the organization for the upcoming year. Important business was passed to simplify the organization’s constitution and bylaws, provide accommodations during initiation for candidates with disabilities, and kickstart an effort to reconstruct the Association’s website and branding. A new chapter, Oregon Delta, was officially accepted into the Association, and its first member was initiated before the entire Convention. In addition, three new Executive Councillors were elected into the organization.
As Chair of the Resolutions Committee, PA-E President and voting delegate Laura Strang presented the committee’s final report to the Convention at the closing business meeting. PA-E participated in important idea exchange efforts through District meetings and Interactive Chapter Exchange (ICE) sessions. Check out photos of the Convention below! Also be sure to check out the Resolutions Committee skit, presented at the fourth business meeting. (The Mario Kart skit at time 9:55 in the video is especially funny!) Watch on YouTube HERE.
PA-E thanks everyone who made the 112th Convention a success! We are looking forward to more active participation at next year’s Convention in Denver, Colorado.
