Lip Sync and Air Band Competition – Fall 2019

The Fall 2019 Lip Sync and Air Band Competition was another fun-filled, high-energy success! The competition featured guest judges Professors Chris Hawley, Annemarie Exharos, Joseph Woo, and Gary Gordon.

Participants from both on and off the floor performed a variety of songs for the audience in Farinon Atrium.  The winning performance was “You and Me, but Mostly Me” from The Book of Mormon, with Eartha Kitt’s “Santa Baby” coming in second and “Wake Me up Before You Go-Go” by Wham! in third. 

We raised $284.50 for the Save the Music Foundation, which works to keep music education in public schools.  Thank you to everyone who performed, judged, and attended, and especially to everyone who donated!

The Spring 2019 Lip Sync and Air Band Competition was another fun-filled, high-energy success! The competition featured guest judges Professor Alex Brown, Professor Jonathan Steffens, and Professor Amy Van Asselt.

Participants from both on and off the floor performed a variety of songs for the audience in Farinon Atrium.  The winning performance was “Shoop” by Salt N Pepa, with “Snow Miser & Heat Miser” from A Miser Brothers’ Christmas coming in second and “Seagulls (Stop It Now!)”, a Bad Lip Reading of The Empire Strikes Back, in third.

Lip Sync and Air Band Competition – Friday, November 2nd at 7pm in Farinon atrium 
The Fall 2018 Lip Sync and Air Band Competition took place on Friday, November 2nd at 7 pm in the Farinon Atrium. The competition featured guest judges Professor Jason Simms, Professor Aseel Bala, and Professor Trent Gaugler.

There were a many participants this year from on and off the floor who performed a variety of songs.  The winning performance was a 2000s Medley by Todrick Hall, with “Footloose” coming in second place and “Won’t Say I’m in Love” from Hercules in third.  

With the support residence life, WJRH, the Lafayette community, and all the Easton businesses that donated to the raffle, we were able put on a fun event  made for a great cause.
