On Saturday, March 30th, 40 participants gathered at Lafayette College to participate in a workshop focused on “Creating Meaningful Community Partnerships.” Lead by the Sigal Museum‘s Curator, Brittany Merriam, the workshop featured four presenters (Ken Jones Jr and Ron Morris of Mercantile Home, Michael Durkin of The Renegade Company, and Ashley Casusey-Golden) with backgrounds in community-based art and performance. Participants heard about several grass-roots projects centered on community engagement and addressing community needs and issues such as immigration, stereotypes/stigmas, homelessness and the opioid epidemic. Participants then spent the afternoon engaging in collaborative conversation in a networking session.
