LVEHC Writing Retreat, Masterclass & Keynote Address : Deadline Approaching!

We are happy to share the LVEHC Writing Community’s upcoming series of events, including Susan Straight’s Keynote Address: “Geography of Home and Soul” (June 1st) and the LVEHC Writing Community’s Writing Masterclass (June 1st) and Writing Retreat (June 2-8th).

The Masterclass and Retreat are open to members of the community, students, local faculty and staff and will be accepting applications through March 15th. The Keynote address is open to the public and no RSVP is necessary. A $100 stipend is available to Masterclass participants, and all accommodation, meals, and travel to/from Lafayette College to the retreat location will be provided for Retreat participants.

Following the Masterclass, a select number of participants will travel to the Highlights Foundation in Honesdale, PA to participate in a week-long Writing retreat (June 2-8). This retreat is geared toward Lehigh Valley writers and is open to community members, students (undergraduate and graduate) and faculty/staff and will focus on the theme of “Geography of home and soul,” in a Lehigh Valley context within the past 50 years. The retreat will be guided by 3 local leaders in the field: Kate Brandes, Ruth Knafo Setton, and Kate Racculia.

These events are sponsored in part by the Lehigh Valley Engaged Humanities Consortium, with generous support provided by a grant to Lafayette College from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Please contact LVEHC Coordinator Kate Pitts (pittsk@lafayette.edu) with any questions.
