Lafayette Hillel provides numerous social programs so students can interact in a friendly and fun environment, bond as a community, and foster growth and discussion together. Some of these programs include monthly bagel brunches, Tri-Hillel events, movie nights, guest speakers, apple picking, and even a B’nai Mitzvah formal!
Holocaust Remembrance Week
Every April, we observe Holocaust Remembrance Week by putting together a series of panels, video screenings, discussions, and other events to honor the victims of the Holocaust. These events bring the campus community together and always represent thought-provoking ways to remember the lives lost in the Holocaust.
Over 100 students and faculty were in attendance during the April 2023 speaker.

Bagel Brunch
Our most popular event are the monthly bagel brunches! On the first Sunday of each month, Hillel hosts any student or faculty for a morning of discussion and bagels! The morning starts at 11am with a pre-bagel brunch discussion led by the Social Action team. In the past, there have been talks about Jewish women in the media, Kabalistic rituals and ideals relating to Halloween, and why is sustainability a principle of Judaism around Tu Bi’shvat. At 11:30am, the Hillel House serves bagels, lox, tuna salad, fruit salad, and other delicious food for all to enjoy. Typically, brunches have 100+ community members in attendance!
Bake A Difference
Multiple times throughout each semester, students come together to collectively make and bake challah! On a Thursday, students will help make dough to let the dough rise over night. Then, after Shabbat the next day, students gather again to braid and shape the challah and bake it together. Half of the challah is made for students to take, and half of the challah is donated to Safe Harbor Easton Area Pantry!
Tri-Hillel Events
When possible, Lafayette Hillel loves to get together with Lehigh and Muhlenberg Hillel’s for a fun-filled tri-Hillel event. This is an awesome opportunity for bonding and collaboration with other students in the Lehigh Valley. Past events include Havdalah, game nights, ice skating, craft nights, and many more.
