A Trip Down Memory Lane

When someone mentions the name Hunter S. Thompson people tend to think of two thing: the real life lunatic gonzo writer that has graced the literary world with unique works like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and The Rum Diary or Johnny Depp’s fast talking, scatterbrained character in the movie adaptation of Fear and Loathing, but fans of Thompson’s work never really stop to think about the man that drew the crazy illustrations that are often featured in Thompson’s novels. This summer that will change because there is a documentary on the horizon titled For No Good ReasonĀ about Ralph Steadman, the illustrator that is best known for his collaboration with Thompson and his distinct splatter -paint style of illustrating. The documentary features Steadman looking back on his long career and recounting the wild days of his youth when he was first beginning as an illustrator. This film will definitely satisfy Thompson and Fear and Loathing fans everywhere.
