Abstract: The purpose of this project was to determine the physical, environmental, social, cultural, political, and economic differences between hydraulic fracturing practices in the Marcellus Shale formation in New York and Pennsylvania. Through accurate and easily understandable models, the previously mentioned process and components of hydraulic fracturing were represented in an unbiased, accessible manner. The project produced a final report, along with several visual models that were on display in Acopian Engineering Center and Van Wickle Hall at the end of the semester.
