The Immersive Arts Lab (IAL) is located in the 248 Building on the Arts Campus and is hosted by both the Film and Media Studies Program and the Theater Department. This new facility will encourage the collaborative and cross-disciplinary study of games, VR, and AR. The IAL will be a space to play games and to think deeply about play. It will serve as a platform for the development of experimental and immersive performances. It will also support a range of new media courses that will encourage students to consider the aesthetics, narrative structures, power, and politics of contemporary immersive experiences.
