After identifying our Positive Core, we worked to build from our strengths. As a group, we were asked what our hopes and wishes for our future at Lafayette College were. Here’s what we came up with:
- Feeling/sense of respect/appreciation from campus community for all employees
- Use our mission to guide us (vs. using outside comparisons)-we know what Lafayette is.
- Universal acknowledgment of accomplishments. (Entire campus community)
- Equality among all groups of employees
- Eliminate the need for multi-cultural and diversity offices
- An open platform for creative thinking.
- Agreement on mission-embrace who we are.
- Breaking down barriers.
- Willingness to take risks.
- More gatherings for getting to know each other and creating shared experiences.
- Community bulletin board to connect on more personal level.
- Field trips-getting to know offices on a deeper level.
- Creating a more cohesive Lafayette community by holding regular get-togethers between faculty and staff in a casual, warm setting.
- Mutual respect by everyone for everyone’s contributions to the student learning experience.
- Enhanced institutional self-image.
- Appreciative relationship between faculty and staff.
