Mission and Outcomes

Mission: A campus-wide sustainability and community service effort where students recycle their unused or gently used goods by donating them to local organizations via Green Move Out.

Purpose: To organize a campus-wide collection and redistribution of student donations to people or local, non-profit service organizations.  Green Move Out ties together environmental justice and social justice by achieving the goals listed below.

Program Outcomes:

• Advance environmental sustainability by decreasing the campus contribution to landfills
• Advance community sustainability by distributing usable goods to agencies who will redistribute items to local communities

Student Outcomes:

• Increase Campus Engagement and Civic Responsibility
• Students will demonstrate a commitment to reducing their own carbon footprint through donating their own used goods or volunteering
